The purpose of this website is to provide information
and ideas for those involved with telephone management. It
is an open site, with no logons and no fees or charges.
The site was originally built to promote the TeleMarshal
Telephone Management System, which provided call
accounting and telephone traffic analysis for medium sized
organizations. The system was developed and marketed by
me, beginning in 1982 and continuing into the 1990's.
Licenses were originally sold under my own name. Then in
1986, a subchapter S corporation, TeleMar Inc., was formed,
and from then on the product was sold and supported under
that name. This has always been a one-man shop.
Active selling of the package ceased in the nineties,
when I returned to teaching, but support for the existing
customers on annual contract continued into the 2000's.
TeleMarshal was designed specifically to run on the
Hewlett Packard HP 3000 series of business computers.
Hewlett-Packard stopped selling this computer system in the
Fall of 2003 and stopped supporting it after 2006. There was
an organization of dedicated users and third party vendors
that sought to keep the HP 3000 alive; however, Hewlett
Packard never officially committed to supporting their work,
and nearly all users have migrated to other environments.
TeleMarshal was not converted to another platform.
We continued to support customers until they had installed
another package on an alternative platform. Our last three
customers left TeleMarshal in 2004, about four years after
HP's original End of Line announcement.
This site is moving in a new direction, and over time will
offer gratis products and services, including TeleMarshal
source code, that may interest other developers, particularly
custom developers involved with telephone management in
their own company or client organizations.
Some of the topics that may be covered, subject in part to
